Agreed, Discovery is unwatchable. I really hate the cynical, nihilistic

version of Star Trek. Picard has some of that too, but its less noticeable since it takes place on the margins of the galaxy and not in the Federation proper. It kind of reminds me a bit of Firefly in that regard.
